Who We Are

Our physicians specialize in managing a broad range of kidney diseases, hypertension (high blood pressure), kidney transplantation aftercare, in addition to dialysis. Our physicians underwent extensive training in nephrology and are board-certified by American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology. We offer the most up-to-date treatments for renal disease.

– TWO locations: Joplin, MO and Pittsburg, Kansas

– Our physicians provide care at Mercy Hospital, Freeman Hospital and Landmark Hospital in Joplin, MO.

– Our providers offer care at dialysis units in Joplin, Neosho, Webb City, and Carthage in Missouri as well as Fort Scott and Pittsburg in Kansas and Miami, Oklahoma.

Dr. Ahmed Aboul-Magd

Dr. A graduated from medical school in 1975 from the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University at the top of his class. He has more than 35 years of experience in nephrology. He did his training at the State University of New York in Brooklyn.

He has extensive experience in treating kidney related diseases of all varieties including auto immune conditions, acute and chronic renal failure as well as dialysis.

He enjoys reading, watching soccer, and traveling as well as spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Dr. Nadine Aboul-Magd

Dr. Nadine Aboul-Magd is board certified in both nephrology and internal medicine.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in Kansas City, Missouri. After completion of the internal medicine program at UMKC, she completed a nephrology fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Dr. Nadine Aboul-Magd is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the National Kidney Foundation.

A Joplin native, Dr. Nadine enjoys caring for patients in the surrounding rural communities of Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Nadine Aboul-Magd enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and being in the outdoors.

Dr. Asad Al-Rawashdeh

Dr. Asad finished his nephrology training from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and his kidney and pancreas transplant training from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He practices general nephrology as well and manages kidney transplant patients.

Dr. Asad is an assistant professor at Kansas City University Medical School in Joplin, MO and is very passionate about teaching students as well as residents at Freeman and Mercy hospital.

Dr. Asad also has research experience from the University of Arizona and Harvard Medical School.

In his spare time, Dr. Asad enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and reading.

Ashley Bigby

Family Nurse Practioner

Ashley Bigby is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse board certified in family medicine through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board. She received her masters degree from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is practicing nephrology in collaboration with Dr. Nadine and Dr. A.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and drinking coffee of any kind.
